I like your idea about the business model for artists where they charge fans for access to an exclusive area. However, I do not think that the options that you describe will motivate fans for paying that, they can already achieve this through MySpace or soon through my music community site: boomr.nl – Dutch site only for now ;)

Right now, I can’t think of options that fans would pay $5-20 a month for, but I’m assuming it can become reality. I would suggest the artists to release the songs 1 week sooner to these fans, before releasing it to the public.

Also, the artists (much like companies take care of their clients) should take care of their fans by giving them oppertunities such as buying the first tickets to shows, merch, etc.
